June 23 Pennsylvania Infrastructure Group meets - On June 23, leaders from water and sewer, transportation, communications, and energy industries will review their progress to present a comprehensive bi-partisan, cross-industry strategy aimed at unleashing Pennsylvania's resurgence as a keystone economic force in our nation. This effort is a result of the April 10 Pennsylvania Infrastructure Summit and the June 2 Legislative Day. The meeting will start at 10 a.m. in the Technology Council Conference Room. News from the world of Broadband This week the Internet Innovation Alliance went to Las Vegas, Nevada to participate in NXTcomm 08. NXTcomm, a joint venture between TIA and USTA, brings together IP providers, manufacturers and other groups. This year, IIA hosted a booth that featured 'Who's Hogging the Bandwidth' and exaflood. Through the course of the three day trade show, IIA staff informed more than 230 visitors to the booth about IIA's mission. The coalition's causes of educating policy makers and promotion of a National Broadband Strategy were well received with numerous people asking to be put on our mailing list. Additionally, this week Cisco's latest report, 'Approaching the Zetabyte Era,' that appeared in Monday's Wall Street Journal. Click here to read the article.
July 18 Pennsylvania Institute of Homeland and Defense Technologies Next Meeting - On July 18 the institute will take the many good ideas shared at MiX 2008 and will be developing the Homeland and Defense Agenda for Pennsylvania. Through the Agenda and efforts surrounding the Agenda, we hope to raise public awareness on the critical issues impacting this Industry, speed public policy actions to support and grow the Industry and secure funding as needed to support and grow the Industry. By June 30th we will share a draft of the Agenda with you for your input, thoughts and concerns. At our 9:00 am, July 18th PIHDT meeting at the Technology Council's offices, we hope to finalize the Agenda, and approve advocacy efforts or the same. We urge you to stay connected and help.

The workshop will provide employers with the necessary tools for organizations and employees to plan for an influenza pandemic.
